Breaking News!
Hurricane Marcia has been sighted and reported to have touched down in the Bay Beach Area. Parents are advised to secure your children to the public part of the beach and hold on to your wallets cause taxes are sure to go up in the wake of frivolous law suits and fired lawyers, however, pasta dinners and bake sale fundraiser will be in huge abundance this summer so get your insulin ready. If you see Virginia plates take cover!
That is all.

Dereck "I'm not truly this bad"Crane posted the following on the We're for the four blog:
"Each of these four councilors were elected to put a stop to the condo and they failed, I was wrong in trusting politicians. You lost my support."
Looks like some trouble in paradise!!!!! Since Mr Crane has lost his suit against his own home town maybe he can sue his hometown councilors. I think if he used "they took advantage of me" defense it might work for him.
I had a very intersting and even more informative converstion today with a very good friend and fellow Mason. This person I might add, served several terms as Mayor of a town roughly the same size as Fort Erie. In a nutshell, there ARE avenues that can be taken without launching lawsuits. It involves the Ministry of Municiple Affairs, who take conflict of interest very seriously, and do not buy into the defence of "sorry, I did not know".

This is not to say I told you so, this is to re-affirm the OLG were just 'screwing' with us.
The plan to Close Fort Erie Slots and the 2 other sites was not something thought up over night or just thrown together. The OLG has know for a long period of time (as long as 2 years) they would be closing our site when they did and had ABSOLUTELY no intention of letting it open again, no matter who came forward.
I suppose that we should be grateful at this point that there are jobs coming. Call centre jobs are better than nothing, but over all this is not a good sign.

We have to keep asking questions and demanding accountability of this council. This is our town and our tax dollars that are being spent. We paid $93,000 for the Operational Review. The key findings were room for improvement with regard to relationships between council and staff and trust issues. Since the review, the relationship between council and staff has deteriorated. All the accusations of corruption and wrong doing where not found and not proven. If there is no proof of corruption therefore these accusation should be stopped.
Couldn't pull the trigger tonight?
We know you want to.
We know you want to relieve your 6 plaintiffs of their Court awarded costs to the town you supposedly represent.
So when will you put your Big Boy pants on John Hill?
Next week?
A week thereafter?
Promises, promises......John
You know Ann-Marie Noyes and Marcia Carlyn are waiting!
Fulfill your promises like a good lil boy, Johnny.
Do it!
We in Ridgeway, ONTARIO CANADA, can't wait for your next dare.......
There is a lttle blog out there in outer-space that is proclaiming a 'housing boom' in my village of Ridgeway ONTARIO, which by the by, is also a village of Greater Fort Erie.
The only boom, in the Real-Estate biz, is the Sign Company that makes new FOR SALE signs needed to keep up with demand the past year or so.
Ask any respectable realltor in town and they'll tell you that there are more homes FOR SALE in town than neighbouring Niagara Falls and St. Catherines who by the by, have more than three times the population and less homes on the market.
When are the lies and mis leading info going to stop? The only true way to if there is any way at all is to look at the who was elected as Mayor to establish the will of the people. The Nimby crowd is still going on about how the will of the people was ignored. Look, Doug Martin was always very open about his stance on this Bay Beach condo and he is the only person on this council that reflects the entire town of FE. The will of the people was to have Doug Martin back as our mayor and that is it.
Sadly, I went on a group page created by DC and his posting pics of a bull getting tortured in some weird creepy guy that watches too many movies way. This guy tries really hard to put out this image that he is some kind a bad ass when really all he is, is a heavily medicated guy with a bi polar disorder. I know Greggers is not fond of us talking about these low lifes and prefers to take the high road, but I am more concerned about his kid and his safety. Using pics of an animal being tortured is just wrong no matter how you want to be perceived.
Are you fed up yet FE?
How much more damage to our town will these 4 councilors get away with? When is enough, enough? It is not getting better any time soon. This site has been showing you how inept this council is and who is behind this all for over a year now. Audits, town reviews, tax increases, the slots closing and soon the track, the Kinsmen pool, over a million spent on a light house and we are broke. Now they are costing us another half mil easy on this lawyer issue when the women should have never been fired to begin with.

We should ask the town to higher an outside consultant to do another Efficiency Study. This one should focus on our spending as related our Legal Department.
We are currently still paying Ms. Salter, we will soon be paying her a huge severance, we are paying a lawyer to advise council on how to minimize the damage they have just caused by firing her, we are paying outside council to take care of the day to day legal issues and they said they will be replacing Ms. Salter.
Did these four councilors really fire the town lawyer over 2, not 1 but 2 separate harassment complaints? The people on this site have been saying how messed up these 4 councilors are for over a year and some of the people that support that but this takes the cake. I want to say, the insanity continues but I don't want Little Derek Crane to start having an asthma attack and start another campaign to get me or someone else fired. I just realized their is a theme here. If we can't get what we want, YOU"RE FIRED!

For anyone that has not had the pleasure of knowing Greg, I decided to post the message that he is sending out to all of us at "Redbulls" and Facebook with regard to the recent events. I should have asked his permission before I post this, but I feel it is very important for everyone to realize what a fine young man Greg Bonito truly is and what he is doing for the Town of Fort Erie and it's future.

But not free speech. Just because Greggers spoke his convictions he gets canned. Non-Canadian's and those on their strings ganged up to cost Greggers his weekend job. The crazies should be proud. More proof these people are no good for this Town or any other (in Canada). I'm sure Greggers will survive and be a large part in the dismantling of these groups. Their latest actions will cost them more support as will all of their future attracts on our on-going un-raveling of their lies and deceit.

The Liberals actions in committee point to this bill being killed. Looking more like a change in Gov't will be the only way to repeal this ill advised bill...
Crane, you just got spanked to the tune of close to $70,000 for putting your name on a law suit that most people knew was going nowhere. You spend a hell of allot of time on Facebook slandering and bashing and bulling others and calling them bullies and using business facbook pages to defame people. Poor Derek, it's everyone else and not him. You want people to believe that Bob Steckley put you up to this through emails? Time to cash those checks your mouth keeps writing. If Steckley really did put you up to this than time to sue him like you threaten to sue everyone else.

Raises should be based on performance and results. I see on the agenda for Monday May 7th that the council are going to look into giving themselves a raise. I think a public meeting should be held with regard to this issue.

Dear friends of Bay Beach ...
Who can predict the future?
Anyone in Fort Erie can and this Monday night will be no different than any other Monday night!
I predict, Fort Erie Town Council will announce another defeat for the opposition to an approved plan and another 4-3 voter bloc count will pave the way for more nonesense.
The usual suspects (Paul Collard, John Hill, Bob Steckley and Don Lubberts) will stare into the camera and say their piece and finish off the night by voting to let by gones be by gones with the people that owe our town, court costs in the amount of $70,000.
The people behind FEWPA stood in the shadows while their so-called friends were tossed under the bus yesterday by the judge deliberating the contract with the developer and the Town of Fort Erie.
Clearly, the court ruling must be vivid enough for those that denied rightful passage for an approved plan for development.

After apologizing for commenting on an issue that he declared a conflict of interest in he once again spoke out on the very same issue. I'm confused. It was a conflict of interest for him to speak at council and then again to give an interview to "Niagara at Large" and at the last council meeting he admitted to his error and apologized. How is it that he then speaks out publicly on Monday night at the closing of the Slots on the very same issue that was a conflict of interest the week before? Maybe our legal department at Town Hall, Mrs. Salter could advise him.
Greater Fort Erie needs to quickly identify an identifiable image or brand and procure an idealistic approach as to what the majority of residents want from their township in the near future.
During the Industrial Revolution, our Town Fathers quickly adapted from a poor farming community to a thriving industrial town full of opportunity near a once thriving city of Buffalo N.Y. which at the time was "the" prominent destination for growth and prosperity.
I'm still waiting to hear from someone, what has the voting block of 4 (Lubberts, Hill, Steckley and Collard)done to improve the quality of life in Greater Fort Erie?
And I'm not talking about the Fowler's Toad Habitat at Bay Beach or the new/old road allowance Councillor Lubberts discovered with the help of holiday seekers trying to stop the inevitable!
I'm talking about improvement for the people that have to pay for it and many other unneccesary expenditures that prohibit further development in town!
Your getting there RBD.
Just looked at your rankings in Alexa, and I have to say, for a political commentary blog, you have come a long way since I first checked it out when I joined RBD. Back then, you were sitting at 42 million world wide. That's one hell of a jump to 746 000 in a year.
Your going to be busy Shawn, taking it further.

Okay, so in a recent post you explained what Councilor Shuler hasn't done, but you have never said what he's done.
So maybe you can explain to everyone what the lame-duck has done.
And you can't use the excuse he loses 4 to 3 all the time, after all it is his second term.
We await your political commentary.
It seems that the 4 amigos don't like the answers they are looking for so they want to hire another legal advisor who will agree with them.
My question is, who will defy all logic and agree with them?
OK, my other question is how much will it cost to rid of the town staffer who is obviously their nemisis, in their eyes?
OK, another question is when will someone be hired to be on staff to give them the answers the usual four (Lubberts, Collard, Hill and Steckley) are looking for and a what cost?
